What We Do

The Chen Yidan Visiting Global Fellows program was founded in response to an increasing interest in international education issues from students at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), as well as an awareness by the faculty and administration of the ever-increasing need for our students to be able to navigate education on a global stage. This program is supported by a generous gift from the Chen Yidan Foundation.

The goal of this exciting new program is to bring a diverse group of international leaders and scholars from a variety of sectors – nonprofit, academic, government, and for-profit – and geographical regions to HGSE to create curricular and co-curricular experiences for our students. This program generates valuable opportunities for the global exchange of ideas on education and for deeper learning about many specific regions and contexts for education across the world.  It further expands the HGSE community's existing offerings and toolkits to continue thinking and engaging comparatively about the challenging and complex education issues in the world today.
