Najelaa Shihab is a distinguished educator and innovator in the field of education in Indonesia. With a background in Psychology from the University of Indonesia, she has dedicated her career to transforming education through real-world practices. She is the founder of several schools and educational initiatives, including Sekolah Murid Merdeka, Pusat Studi Pendidikan dan Kebijakan (PSPK), and Kampus Guru Cikal. Her schools and initiatives focus on blended learning environments, supporting educational research, and teacher professional development.

In addition to her educational endeavors, Najelaa also supports families more holistically with breastfeeding support groups, financial education, a focus on publishing, and a passion for the environment. She sits on the board of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Indonesia and the Hutan Itu Indonesia, an entity focused on fostering connection between the Indonesian people and their forests.
