Professor Rui Yang is Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education at Hong Kong University. A thought leader shaping the discourse on Asian and Chinese higher education, Dr. Yang moves beyond simplistic East-West binaries to offer nuanced understandings of policy mobility and institutional change. By bridging Eastern and Western educational paradigms, he has enriched
the discourse on cross-cultural strategies, exemplified by his collaborative work with Western institutions to develop a comparative framework for curriculum development. In his most recent book, *The Chinese Idea of a University: Phoenix Reborn*, Dr. Yang opposes the existence of an impassable chasm between Chinese and Western ideas of a university and argues that it is possible to combine Chinese and Western ideas of higher education.

Dr. Yang will be visiting the Harvard Graduate School of Education from **October 12th to October 16th**, where he will provide non-credit workshops open to the Harvard community. More details to come!
